“The reason it began is because I am Hungarian, so there’s a personal connection there,” said Steve Kovacs, interim chair of SF State’s cinema department. Two years ago Kovacs and a friend of his decided to bring the contemporary Hungarian cinema here to SF State.     Harmadik alkalommal rendezik meg a fesztivált.   Hazai rendezők, színészek, producerek mesélnek majd a magyar filmről a november 14-én kezdődő San Francisco-i Magyar Film Fesztiválon. A rendezvényen minikurzust tartanak a vasfüggöny leomlásáról, de lesz emellett közönségtalálkozó, és persze sok friss magyar film is. November 14-22. között harmadik alkalommal rendezik meg a San Francisco-i Magyar Film Fesztivált (HFSF). A rendezvény a „vasfüggöny leomlása” című dokumentumfilm-kurzussal veszi kezdetét, majd több friss dokumentum-, játék-, rövid- és animációs filmet vetítenek le alkotóik jelenlétében. The Los Angeles Hungarian Film Festival was held for the thirteenth time this year, with a similar event taking place for the second time in San Francisco. Although “a bit small and a bit yellow,” like the iconic Hungarian orange in the cult classic The Witness, the San Fransisco Festival was no lemon, either. On the contrary!
